Biography

Tyrone Benskin has been a dominant figure in the entertainment industry for over four decades, leaving an impressive and diverse mark on the Canadian and international cultural landscape. With a career spanning film, television, music, and theatre, he has showcased his remarkable range as an actor, playing a wide array of characters, from tough and devoted to brilliant and ancient, exposing the depths of human nature.

With over 125 film and television credits to his name, Tyrone has starred in notable projects such as NBC's "Debris" and "Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol", the anthology series "Channel Zero", the cult sci-fi drama "Charlie Jade", and the comedy series "Pillow Talk". He has also made numerous guest appearances on popular shows like "The Boys", "Transplant", "Fargo", and "Alert: Missing Persons Unit". His television movie credits include the beloved holiday classic "The Christmas Choir", "Pieces of a Woman", and "Christmas Checklist".

Tyrone was twice elected to the post of National Vice President of ACTRA, Canada's national film and television actors union.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, Tyrone has also been involved in politics, serving as a Member of Parliament for the riding representing the Sud-Ouest (South West) of Montreal. During his term, he served as Opposition Critic on Canadian Heritage, Deputy Critic on Official Languages, and on the Sub-Committee for International Human Rights.

Tyrone continues to prioritize arts advocacy and mentorship, while also striving to grow as an artist, leaving a lasting impact on the entertainment industry and beyond.
