Tyler Collins, a talented individual, was born in Anchorage, Alaska. He received a scholarship to attend an arts boarding school, where he developed his passion for acting. During his studies, he was introduced to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland by staff members who made a deputation to the school.
At the Conservatoire, Collins honed his stage acting skills and formed a close working relationship with John McPhail and Andrew Lanni. Upon completing his studies, he began his career in short films, including "Dear Mom" (2010),where McPhail served as the cinematographer. Collins also played the recurring character Luke in the BBC television series "River City" (2002).
In 2013, Collins was invited to star in the short film "Notes" (2013),where he played the lead role of Adam. The film, which explores the development of a romantic relationship through post-it notes, earned Collins the Best Actor award at the 2013 We Like 'Em Short Film Festival in Oregon.
That same year, Collins took on the lead role of the Boy in "Just Say Hi" (2013),a short film made for the Virgin Media Short Awards. The film went on to win two out of three awards at a prestigious ceremony in London, attended by Collins and the production team.
In 2015, Collins landed his biggest role to date as James in the feature film "Where Do We Go from Here?" (2015). Shot in just 16 days, the film follows Nurse Jen, who questions why the 25-year-old James is living and working in a care home. The film premiered at the 2015 Sydney Indie Film Festival, where it received seven nominations, including Best Actor and Best Score for Collins. Collins went on to win the Best Score accolade. The film is set to appear at the 2016 Glasgow Film Festival.
