Biography

Tucker Smallwood, a man whose face and distinctive baritone voice are undoubtedly recognizable, despite his relatively unknown name. Born into a family of educators and diplomats, he was destined for a life of service and creativity.

Before pursuing his passion for acting, Smallwood served as a television director for NBC, but his career took a dramatic turn when he was drafted into the US Army in 1967. Commissioned as an infantry officer, he underwent rigorous training at Fort Benning, mastering the art of warfare and Vietnamese language skills. He even commanded a mobile advisory team during the Vietnam War, earning him a unique perspective on the conflict.

After recovering from combat wounds, Smallwood relocated to New York to hone his acting skills at the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse. His extensive experience in television and film is a testament to his dedication to his craft.

Beyond his acting career, Smallwood is also a talented author and narrator, having written and recorded "Return to Eden", a poignant anthology of 33 essays detailing his experiences as an army advisor in Vietnam, his life as an actor, and his return to Vietnam in 2004. This deeply personal work is a powerful reflection of his journey.

In addition to his creative pursuits, Smallwood is a lifelong musician, and his passion for music led him to perform all vocals on the delta blues album "Incarnation: The Robert Johnson Project". This diverse array of talents and experiences makes Tucker Smallwood a true Renaissance man.
