Travis is a highly accomplished and dedicated artist, serving as the Associate Artistic Director of A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago's historic Old Town. This esteemed theatre company was founded in 1993 by the visionary trio of Guy Van Swearingen, Lawrence Grimm, and Michael Shannon. Notably, Travis has had the privilege of sharing the stage with Shannon and Grimm in the world premiere of Levi Holloway's play, Turret. His impressive resume with A Red Orchid Theatre also boasts credits in The Malignant Ampersands, Grey House, and Small Mouth Sounds.
In addition to his work with A Red Orchid, Travis has also made a significant impact on the Chicago theatrical scene, appearing in productions such as The Crucible at Steppenwolf, Toni Stone, Ah, Wilderness!, Christmas Carol, The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window, Measure for Measure, and Camino Real at the Goodman Theatre, as well as How a Boy Falls at Northlight and Camelot at Drury Lane.
Beyond his Chicago roots, Travis has also had the opportunity to work regionally, taking on roles in The Brothers Size at Milwaukee Chamber, A Streetcar Named Desire with Uprooted, and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at Forward Theatre. His five seasons at American Players Theatre have been marked by standout performances in The Tempest, Glass Menagerie, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Troilus and Cressida, and Richard III.
Travis's talents have also been showcased in the world of television and web series, with notable appearances in Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Chicago Med, Mind Games, and Dad Man Walking. His film credits include Henry Gamble's Birthday Party, Runner, Survivor, and Soldier, Sinner, Savior. Furthermore, he has lent his skills to motion capture work, appearing in Mortal Kombat 1.
