Born in Japan, Toru Tokikawa, a renowned filmmaker, has led a life of cross-cultural immersion, with his childhood spent in the United States and Indonesia. This unique upbringing has instilled in him a passion for telling dynamic stories about individuals pushing boundaries and triumphing over adversity.
Prior to establishing himself in Los Angeles, Toru resided in London and Paris, where he honed his skills as a director, photographer, and producer in the music, fashion, and film industries. His career began at the prestigious Japanese advertising agency, Dentsu, following his graduation from the University of Tokyo.
Toru's linguistic abilities are as impressive as his creative vision, with proficiency in English, French, Japanese, and a working knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia. His latest documentary feature, "Shohei Ohtani - Beyond the Dream," is set to premiere globally on ESPN+/Disney+ on November 17th, 2023.
