Tommy Faircloth is a multifaceted individual with a passion for the film industry. Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, he began his journey as an actor, landing small roles in television programs such as "In The Heat of The Night". However, his true calling lay behind the camera, and he pursued his dream by attending film school at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
After completing his education, Faircloth worked on numerous feature films, including "Renaissance Man", "The Program", and "Die Hard With a Vengeance". His directorial debut, the horror-comedy "Crinoline Head", received positive reviews from publications such as Fangoria magazine. A few years later, he followed up with his second feature film, "Generation Ax", which garnered great reviews from publications like Rue Morgue and Fangoria, and was praised by horror legend Joe Bob Briggs, who gave it four stars.
Faircloth took a break from the horror genre and worked on various documentary projects for channels such as Discovery and The Travel Channel, focusing on theme parks and roller coasters. In 2013, he returned to the horror scene with his first short film, "The Cabin", which won numerous awards at film festivals across the United States and was picked up for worldwide broadcast on ShortsTV.
In 2015, his feature film "Dollface" was released in North America by Breaking Glass Pictures and in the UK under the title "The Doll". Two years later, he released his feature film "Family Possessions", which starred Mark Patton, the legendary star of "Nightmare on Elm Street 2", and Felissa Rose, who appeared in Faircloth's favorite slasher film "Sleepaway Camp". The film was released on DVD and VOD by Sony Pictures/4Digital Media.
Faircloth is also the founder of the Crimson Screen Horror a Film Fest and the South Carolina Underground Film Festival, both of which take place in Charleston, South Carolina. These annual genre film festivals showcase films from filmmakers around the world, while also highlighting local productions and filmmakers from South Carolina.
Through his production company, Horse Creek Productions, based in Columbia, South Carolina, Faircloth produces all of his films in his home state. His latest feature film, "A Nun's Curse", starring Felissa Rose and Damian Maffei, was picked up for worldwide distribution by Uncork'd Entertainment and was released domestically in May 2020.
