Tom Verri was born and raised in The Bronx, New York, where he attended New York City Public Schools and began his passion for acting in 1992 at the State University of New York, SUNY Purchase College.
Throughout his college years, Tom appeared in numerous stage productions in various upstate New York playhouses, earning rave reviews for his natural comedic style.
After graduating, Tom began his television career in 1999 with Third Watch, where he was cast as a real police officer extra after being recommended by a friend.
Before he could get the necessary waivers to join the Screen Actors Guild, Tom quickly found success in television and independent film, while balancing his full-time job as a real police officer.
In the summer of 2000, Tom began an intense regimen of vocal training in New York City, studying with Lynn Starling of the Metropolitan Opera and Kei Pai of The Beijing Opera.
Tom is extremely passionate about singing and has been known to showcase his talents on various occasions.
Following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Tom decided to put his acting career on hold for a few years and focus on his police job.
Tom is the youngest of seven children, born to Louis Verri, a construction worker who passed away in 1972, and Dorothy Preziozo, a New York Telephone Company operator who passed away in 2006.
Tom's police career began at the age of 18 as a Reserve Officer in the N.Y.P.D., and he became a sworn police officer at the age of 21 with the Mount Vernon Police Department in Westchester County, New York in 1985.
In 1986, Tom was one of Westchester County's highest decorated cops for disarming an axe-wielding assailant in a Mount Vernon Bank.
Tom retired from law enforcement in January 2008 and served as a police advisor in Iraq for one year before establishing his own private investigations company in Florida.
In his free time, Tom is an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast and rider.
After retiring from law enforcement, Tom returned to his passion for acting and is now pursuing film and television roles in both New York and Los Angeles.
