Tom Vermeir, a multifaceted Belgian artist, was born in 1976. He embarked on a journey of self-discovery, studying theatre at the prestigious Conservatorium of Ghent. As a singer and guitarist, Tom co-founded the rock band A BRAND, which achieved remarkable success in Belgium, releasing five records and touring internationally for a decade.
Throughout his career, Tom has seamlessly transitioned between music and theatre. He has collaborated with esteemed companies such as het KIP, COMPAGNIE CECILIA, NTGENT, KOPERGIETERY, TONEELHUIS, and ABATTOIR FERME. Tom's impressive repertoire includes roles in productions like De PIJNDERS, GLORIA, LACRIMA, POEPSIMPEL, and many more.
Tom's most notable collaboration is with stage writer ARNE SIERENS and COMPAGNIE CECILIA. Together, they co-wrote the screenplay for BELGICA, which features Tom in the leading role. His outstanding performance earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the Ensors. Director FELIX VAN GROENINGEN praised Tom, stating, "Tom is a natural talent. I met him on stage, and the roles he played for Arne Sierens really blew me away. He was made to play Frank."
In recent years, Tom has made a significant impact in television and film. He has starred in the French-Belgian film SEULE A MON MARRIAGE, directed by MARTA BERGMAN, and will soon appear in TV series such as THE DAY, THE TEAM SEASON 2, SALAMANDER, DE TWAALF, and JDE BENDE VAN JAN DE LICHTE.
