Biography

Tom Holland is an American director and screenwriter, renowned for his work in the horror and thriller film genres. His early writing credits include the 1982 film Class of 1984 and the 1983 film Psycho II, inspired by the works of Robert Bloch, which starred Anthony Perkins as the iconic psychopath Norman Bates.

As a director, Tom gained widespread recognition with his 1985 film Fright Night, a vampire movie that redefined the sub-genre and influenced later films such as The Lost Boys (1987) and Near Dark (1987). The film was a commercial success, earning three Saturn Awards and one Dario Argento Award.

Tom's subsequent project, Child's Play (1988),featured Chris Sarandon and was a number one box-office hit in America, despite controversy surrounding its themes. Like Fright Night, it has since developed a cult following among horror enthusiasts.

Tom then directed two films based on adaptations of Stephen King's novels: The Langoliers (1995) and Thinner (1996). He also made a cameo appearance in the Stephen King miniseries The Stand (1994).

In addition to his directorial work, Tom has appeared in several other projects, including the television series The Incredible Hulk, Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories (1985),three episodes of Tales from the Crypt (1989),and the prestigious Masters of Horror (2005) anthology. He has also starred in A Walk in the Spring Rain (1970) alongside Ingrid Bergman.

In 2009, Tom took on a starring role in Hatchet II (2010),alongside Kane Hodder and Tony Todd.
