Biography

Tom Dugan is a renowned playwright and actor based in Los Angeles, widely regarded as a "national treasure" by critics. With over 25 years of experience, he has garnered numerous awards and nominations from prestigious organizations such as the New York Drama Desk, New York Outer Critics Circle, Los Angeles Ovation, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, and Los Angeles Stage Scene.

Dugan's meticulous research and historical accuracy have earned him international recognition, with his one-person plays being produced in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Israel, India, Australia, Italy, and the Caribbean.

One of his notable works is the play Wiesenthal, which tells the story of Simon Wiesenthal, a renowned Nazi hunter. The play was produced Off-Broadway by Daryl Roth and featured on PBS, earning praise from the New York Times as "heartbreaking and beautiful".

Dugan's other solo plays include Tell Him It's Jackie, The Ghosts of Mary Lincoln, Robert E. Lee - Shades of Gray, Frederick Douglass in the Shadow of Slavery, and Tevye in New York!, each receiving critical acclaim from publications such as Curtain Up, LA Times, Stage Happenings, and more.

In addition to his solo plays, Dugan has also written multi-character plays, including the dark comedy Cemetery Pub and its upcoming prequel, The Appearance of Propriety.

As an actor, Dugan has studied with Stella Adler and Howard Fine, and has appeared in numerous regional theater, film, and television productions, including The Man Who Came to Dinner, Happy Birthday, Wanda June, Amadeus, On Golden Pond, Friends, Bones, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Practice, Chicago Hope, Just Shoot Me, Ghostbusters II, Kindergarten Cop, The Naked Gun, and Dave.
