Tom Doyle, born Charles Thomas Doyle on June 10, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, soon relocated to Morehead City, North Carolina, and later to Washington, D.C. and Raleigh, North Carolina, before settling back in Morehead City in 1969.
Growing up, Tom was involved in school plays from a young age. In high school, he found a unique opportunity to become a sports writer for the local newspaper, The Carteret County News-Times, and worked as a weekend disc jockey and news reporter for the local radio station, WMBL-FM.
After high school, Tom attended a local community college before joining the Air Force and starting a family. His Air Force duty included a tour overseas in West Germany, which he cut short due to family difficulties.
Upon returning to the United States, Tom returned to Morehead City and resumed working for local radio stations. He later moved to Greenville, North Carolina, and continued his education at East Carolina University. While at ECU, Tom worked in the Sports Information department and became involved with the school's sports radio network, covering football and basketball games as a sideline reporter and engineer.
Upon graduating, Tom was hired full-time by the university to manage the sports video department, providing video support to all athletic programs, primarily football, and continued working with the school's radio network.
In 1996, Tom relocated to Colorado to work for the University of Colorado-Boulder in the sports video department. He stayed there until 1998, when he became the director of the football video program at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Tom remained in this position for 18 months before returning to the University of Colorado in 1999, where he stayed until 2004.
Following his departure from the college sports video world, Tom decided to pursue his passion for acting and filmmaking. He became involved in local independent film production in Denver, working with local coaches and mentors to hone his acting skills. Tom continues to pursue his dream of becoming a working actor, grateful for the opportunity to pursue his passion.
