Biography

Todd's early life was marked by a deep passion for horses and pickleball, which he enjoyed on a small farm outside of Newberg, Oregon. This rural upbringing allowed him to hone his performing skills, and he would later go on to star in numerous school and community theater productions.

After completing his education at Western Oregon State College, Todd received encouragement from his professor to pursue a career in acting. This led him to a casting call for the movie Primal Fear, which ultimately resulted in a callback. Under the guidance of renowned casting director Irene Cagen, Todd began taking classes and eventually made the decision to relocate to Los Angeles with his parents.

Todd's first professional job was a commercial for Kaiser Permanente, which was filmed the day before he made the move to California. This was a poignant moment, as it was exactly one year since he had been admitted to the same Portland hospital for illness, which had initially postponed his move.

Once in LA, Todd worked various jobs, including package pickup at Sears and background and audience work, before booking roles on a kids show, an after-school special, and more commercials. These early successes led to recurring roles on Lifetime's first scripted sitcom Maggie and the early single-camera comedy Malcolm in the Middle. He also made guest appearances on a range of projects, including Chicken Soup For The Soul, Galaxy Quest, Criminal Minds, and True Detective.

Todd's breakthrough came when he landed the Dodge Ram "Hemi guys" campaign, starring alongside future Last Comic Standing winner Jon Reep. He continued to work with Greg Garcia, who had directed him on an episode of My Name Is Earl, and went on to play the role of "Frank" in his follow-up comedy Raising Hope.

More recently, Todd has appeared in Perry Mason, Young Sheldon, and the film The Disappearance of Toby Blackwood, in which he played the intrepid P.I. Gilbert Muldoon. This film also marked the screen debut of Todd's beloved pet of 20 years, African Grey parrot Bruce, who played a speaking role.

Todd and Bruce currently reside in Los Angeles.
