Toby Keith

Toby Keith Covel was born on July 8, 1961, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Joan and Hubert Keith ("H. K.") Covel, making him the second child of the family. He had an older brother named Tracy and a younger sister named Tonnie, and the family moved to Moore, Oklahoma, where Toby grew up. After graduating from Moore High School, Toby did not pursue higher education, instead opting to work in the Oklahoma oil fields alongside his father. He later met and married Tricia Lucas, with whom he had three children: Shelley Reeve, whom he adopted, and two biological children, Krystal and Stelen.
