Biography

T.J. Lynch's passion for filmmaking began at a young age, and he went on to earn a degree in Film & Television Production from Montana State University. This achievement was accompanied by a prestigious honor, as Lynch received an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 'Student Emmy' for his thesis film.

Following his graduation, Lynch was selected by the Television Academy to participate in a highly coveted film-editing internship at Warner Bros. Television. This experience undoubtedly provided him with valuable skills and connections in the industry.

In 1999, Lynch's hard work and talent earned him a significant recognition, as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences awarded him a Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting for his screenplay 'The Beginning of Wisdom.' This prestigious award is considered one of the most esteemed scriptwriting competitions globally, with only five Fellowships awarded annually out of thousands of entries from around the world.

As a Nicholl Fellow, Lynch was required to complete one feature-length screenplay during his Fellowship year. He chose to write the screenplay that would eventually become the film 'A Plumm Summer.' This script was inspired by a real-life incident in his hometown, where the beloved string-puppet host of a local children's show, 'Froggy Doo,' was kidnapped and held for ransom.

The Rocky Mountain region of the United States and Canada has been a significant source of inspiration for Lynch's writing. The landscapes, people, and stories of this area have influenced many of his screenplays, including 'The Beginning of Wisdom,' 'Water Under the Bridge,' and 'A Plumm Summer.'
