Biography

Timothy Hutton, a talented individual, was born in Malibu, California, as one of three children to Maryline Poole, a dedicated teacher, and actor Jim Hutton, whose birth name was Dana James Hutton. His entrance into the acting world was nothing short of remarkable, with a burst of activity in the late 1970s.

Following a series of notable roles in television movies, Hutton landed the part of Conrad in the highly acclaimed film Ordinary People, directed by the renowned Robert Redford, in 1980. His portrayal of a troubled teenager grappling with the loss of his older brother earned him widespread recognition and the prestigious 1980 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, making him the youngest actor to date to receive this honor.

Throughout his illustrious career, Hutton has amassed an impressive array of over 70 film, television, and stage appearances, including an impressive 15 feature films between 2006 and 2008. His notable roles have included starring as insurance investigator Nate Ford in the popular television series Leverage, which premiered in 2008, as well as his starring role in the critically acclaimed film The Ghost Writer, directed by Roman Polanski, in 2010.

In addition to his work in film and television, Hutton made his Broadway debut in 1989, starring in the production "Love Letters."
