Person Biography:
Tim Williams, the talented American-born actor, has had a quiet career until his breakout role as the spokesman for Trivago.com in 2016. Born in Houston, Texas in 1966, Tim spent his childhood moving between Houston and New York, where his father was a head golf pro at a private country club. His parents eventually divorced when he was a teenager, and he settled with his mother and sister in Houston.
Tim's interest in acting began in high school, when he walked into a drama class and asked the teacher to make him an actor. He learned his craft well and soon began playing in local bands, including Kiss, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, and Led Zeppelin. After high school, he moved to New York to pursue roles in "off-off Broadway" plays and TV shows. He managed to procure an agent, who found him his first acting role on the Cosby Show.
Tim's early roles included appearances on the TV shows "My So-Called Life" and "The Sopranos". He then landed a lead role in a German film, despite not knowing the language. He took the role and began learning German, which he now speaks fluently. During his time in Germany, he met a local girl and fell in love, eventually deciding to stay in the country.
Tim's commitment to learning German and becoming a part of the German community is impressive, and he has been able to pull off a convincing accent. He has appeared in numerous German productions, including the TV soap opera "Guten Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten" and the film "Valkyrie" starring Tom Cruise.
In recent years, Tim has been mostly unknown in the United States until his Trivago commercial, which has made him recognizable as George Clooney. He has been contacted for interviews, including one with Elle magazine, and has recently worked on the movie "Ballon" and the TV program "Die Diplomatin". Despite his newfound fame, Tim still calls Germany his home and continues to work in the country.
