Tim Machin is a renowned figure in the entertainment industry, having made a name for himself through his work on various projects, including The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1992),Reign (2013),and Designated Survivor (2016).
After graduating from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1989, Tim Machin relocated to London, England, to pursue his dual passions for music and theatre. For the next 15 years, he resided and worked in London, where he was involved in several notable productions.
One of his most notable achievements during his time in London was touring the UK with The Reduced Shakespeare Company, alongside fellow UVic alumna Megan Dennis. He also worked on a production at the Fringe in London, directed by UVic MFA directing alumnus James Forsythe.
In addition to his stage work, Tim Machin has also had a successful career in audiobooks, recording numerous titles. His work has taken him to various parts of Europe, where he has performed in productions such as One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and The Murder of Sherlock Holmes, playing the roles of McMurphy and Sherlock Holmes, respectively.
During his time in London, Tim Machin met his wife, Sarah Gale, a fellow Canadian actor. The couple got married at St James Piccadilly and later welcomed their first son. Following the birth of their child, they relocated to Toronto in 2006.
Since returning to Canada, Tim Machin has worked with various companies across the country, including Catalyst Theatre in Edmonton, Caravan Farm Theatre, Chemainus Theatre, Driftwood Theatre Group, and Humber River Shakespeare. He has also performed Shakespeare in parks, a unique and memorable experience.
Aside from his work in theatre, Tim Machin is also the lead singer of a band called "Sing Along Tim and The Pacifiers," which plays interactive folk rock music for families. The group has toured extensively throughout Ontario, performing at notable events such as The Mariposa Folk Festival, Montreal Folk Festival, Wee Festival of Theatre and Culture for Early Years, and Sioux Lookout Canada Day Celebrations.
One of his band's most notable achievements is his song "The Booger Song," which won the Stingray Songs From The Heart Best Children's Song award at the Folk Music Ontario Conference.
