Person Biography:
Tim Abell is a multifaceted individual with a background in acting, producing, teaching, writing, cooking, and horse training. Born in the Maryland and Virginia area, he developed a passion for martial arts and boxing at a young age. His love for wildlife conservation and the land was fostered through hunting and fishing with his elders.
At 17, Tim joined the US Army and quickly rose through the ranks due to his exceptional leadership skills. He attended Airborne School, Ranger School, and the Ranger Indoctrination Program (RIP) at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was assigned to the 2nd Ranger Battalion, Ft. Lewis, Washington, and served with the 3rd US Infantry, "The Old Guard", Caisson Platoon.
During his final year in the Army, Tim excelled as a horseman and played Robert E. Lee and Andrew Jackson in the US Army's dramatic re-enactment of the History of the United States Torch Light Tattoo at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC. He left the Army after five years to attend college, where he discovered his passion for acting and teaching ballroom dancing.
Tim's breakthrough came when he was cast in the TV series Soldier of Fortune (1997) as Benny Ray Riddle, a former Marine scout/sniper. He went on to star in several films, including The Base (1999),The Substitute: Failure Is Not an Option (2001),and Instinct to Kill (2001). He also appeared in TV shows such as CSI: Miami (2002),NCIS (2003),and JAG (1995).
In recent years, Tim has expanded his career behind the camera, co-producing the award-winning film Soldier of God (2005) and associate producing Miracle at Sage Creek (2005). He has also starred in several films, including Buttermilk Sky (2007) and Hard Ride, The (2007).
