Tilly's early life was marked by a unique blend of Scottish and Danish heritage, born in a small Danish village situated on the North Sea. Growing up amidst the rolling countryside, she developed a profound appreciation for nature and animals, often riding her beloved pony, Bilbo, to the nearby school and tying him up outside her classroom. Despite her idyllic upbringing, Tilly's sense of adventure and desire to explore the world led her to spend time in Scotland, ultimately deciding to relocate there as a teenager to immerse herself in her Scottish roots.
As she continued her journey, Tilly's travels took her to Europe and eventually America, where she pursued her passion for documentary photography at a local college in New Jersey. Her talent and dedication earned her acceptance into the prestigious Parson School of Design in New York City. However, making ends meet while balancing her studies with odd jobs proved challenging, until one fateful night, while coat-checking at a trendy Soho bar, she was discovered as a model, marking the beginning of a life-changing journey.
Within months, Tilly found herself jet-setting around the world, shooting campaigns for renowned clients such as Cover Girl, Esprit, Banana Republic, and Avon, as well as walking the runways for esteemed fashion houses like Yves Saint Laurent, Burberry, and Diesel. Her unique beauty and captivating personality made her a regular face in numerous TV commercials.
As a child, Tilly would create "filmstrips" and screen them in cardboard boxes, hosting "Cinema Nights for Family and Friends." Her lifelong passion for storytelling, theater, and film led her to explore these interests further in the city that never sleeps. Tilly was referred to acting coach Jackie Bartone (AADA) in NYC and completed her training in 2004. Shortly after, she landed her first female lead in Dark Horse, which received nominations in the Cannes Film Festival and 15 other international festivals. Tilly was nominated for her charming and quirky performance as Best Actress at the Zulu Awards in her native Denmark. She later co-starred with Meg Ryan, Cloris Leachman, and Annette Bening in the movie The Woman.
Today, Tilly resides in New York City, continuing to nurture her craft by studying with the legendary Wynn Handman, and expanding her creative horizons.
