Tibo Vandenborre, a talented Belgian actor, was born in 1971 to a Flemish mother and a French-speaking father from the Ardennes region. After a late start in his acting career, Vandenborre enrolled in theatre school at the RITS in Brussels at the age of 28 in 1999.
He received his Master's degree in Dramatic Arts in 2003, and shortly after, he began to make a name for himself in the theatre world. Vandenborre's early success on stage led to his first film role in Michael Roskam's acclaimed short film "Carlo". He continued to work with Roskam, appearing in another award-winning short film, "The One Thing to Do", alongside Matthias Schoenaerts.
Vandenborre's breakthrough in the film industry came with his roles in "Bullhead" (2011) and "The Invader" (2011). He went on to appear in a range of films, including "Fallow" (2015),"Les Chevaliers Blancs" (2015),"L'Economie Du Couple" (2016),and "Tueurs" (2017).
His performances have garnered critical acclaim, with Vandenborre being nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2012 Ensors ceremony for "The Invader" and winning the Best Actor award at the Avanca 2016 Film Festival in Portugal for his role in "Fallow".
Vandenborre has worked in both Dutch- and French-speaking films, as well as English-language productions. One of his notable roles was in the historical drama "Redbad" (2018),where he played alongside Jonathan Banks and Roel Reiné.
In 2016, Vandenborre took on a unique challenge by training in boxing for two months to prepare for an 8-day shoot for the short film "Luc -i-am-that-wall- Moulin". The film, directed by Deben Van Dam, received a special mention from the jury at the Leuven Kort Film Festival in 2017.
