American character actor, boasting a storied career rooted in the esteemed world of stage performances. He made numerous appearances on the iconic Broadway stage, his repertoire including notable productions such as "A Thousand Clowns", "The Deputy", and "Time Limit". This talented thespian was also a prominent figure in the early days of television, lending his skills to a variety of dramatic programs, including the esteemed "Kraft Television Theatre" and "Studio One". Throughout his life, he shared a loving partnership with the accomplished actress Frances Sternhagen. Tragically, Carlin's life was cut short at the age of 62, as he succumbed to heart failure.
