Nguyễn Kim Phụng, a Vietnamese actress and screenwriter, was born on June 10, 1939, and passed away on June 9, 2022. Under the stage name Thẩm Thuý Hằng, she was a celebrated figure in the South Vietnamese film industry, renowned for her captivating performances and status as a sex symbol. From the 1950s to the early 1970s, she consistently topped the bill as a leading actress, with a career spanning nearly three decades.

Throughout her illustrious career, Thẩm Thuý Hằng collaborated with several prominent foreign directors from the United States, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand. Her versatility and talent also led her to excel in the traditional Vietnamese art form of cải lương, which she practiced with great dedication and passion.
