Tess Du Cray, also known as Tess Liu, was born in 1979 in Shandong, China. Prior to embarking on a career in the entertainment industry, she spent a decade working in various jobs, ultimately transitioning into a sales and marketing executive role for an American firm, overseeing the Northern China market at the age of 26.
In 2009, Tess made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for acting. However, she soon returned to Beijing to launch her career in the film industry. Her big break came when she landed a role in the 2010 film 'The Karate Kid', produced by Will Smith and directed by Harald Zwart.
Tess's experience as an actress and her proficiency in multiple languages - she is fluent in English, Chinese, and French - enabled her to work on a variety of international co-productions.
