Biography

Terence Schreurs was born in the quaint village of Bovenkarspel, where her father Jacques Schreurs, a drummer for a rock'n'roll band, and her mother Tine Schreurs, a hair designer, raised her. Tine, originally from the Indonesian island of Serua, fled to the Netherlands after World War II, where she worked tirelessly to build a new life and career in a foreign culture. It was here that she met Jacques, and they fell deeply in love, starting a loving family.

Schreurs spent her early years in a small village near Amsterdam, where she was drawn to storytelling and dreamed of becoming a dancer. However, as she grew older, she became restless, feeling confined by the village's limitations. At the age of 15, she moved to the city and enrolled in an art school, where she discovered her passion for drama and began to envision a career as an actress. Her parents, ever supportive, encouraged her independence and helped her pursue her dreams.

Schreurs continued her education at various theater schools and institutes across the Netherlands, including the Theater School Amsterdam, Academy of Performative Arts Maastricht, and ArteZ in Arnhem. She honed her craft by taking extra classes, working as a cook and grocery assistant, and learning from renowned actors and filmmakers. From 2003 to 2013, she studied under esteemed coaches such as Mark W. Travis, Judith Weston, Hetty MacDonalds, and Rutger Hauer, solidifying her skills as an actress.

Throughout the Netherlands, Schreurs worked extensively in theater, making her television debut in the popular crime series Baantjer in 2003. She went on to book numerous roles in productions like Costa!, All Stars, Spangen, Intensive Care, De Band, and Annie MG, establishing herself as a well-known actress in the Netherlands.

By 2008, Schreurs had landed starring roles in two feature films: De Punt, directed by Hanro Smitsman, and Ver Van Familie, directed by Marion Bloem. Her subsequent projects included significant parts in high-end productions like Van God Los, Zusjes, De Verbouwing, and Cornea.

In 2015, Schreurs took on a lead role in Kristen, a Dutch and English thriller by Mark Weistra, which traveled the world and earned her multiple awards. Around the same time, she began teaching as an acting coach, developing her own method centered on finding the psychological core of a story and character. She founded the Wolf'Qademy in 2015, which became a renowned acting school, and went on to coach and direct actors on productions like (De Boskampi's),Baantjer het Begin, and Mocro Maffia.

In recent years, Schreurs worked on the film Pantser, which won the best short film award at the Dutch Academy Awards, and the successful WWII Netflix international co-production The Forgotten Battle, which became Netflix's most-watched feature film worldwide in Autumn 2021 and won accolades globally.
