Terence, born in 1983, grew up in the small, rural village of Mount Gilead, Ohio, where he was raised with a strong sense of community and a deep connection to the land. Despite his humble beginnings, Terence's passion for filmmaking was ignited during his high school years, where he honed his skills by working on various video projects for his classes.
After graduating from high school, Terence made the bold decision to leave his small town and pursue his dreams of becoming a filmmaker. At 18, he got married and took on a job as a manager at a local movie theater in a slightly larger town, but his creative spark was not fully ignited. It wasn't until he turned 21, divorced his wife, and quit his job that he finally found the courage to enroll in film school.
Terence's journey to becoming a filmmaker was not without its challenges. He attended The Motion Picture Institute of Michigan, commuting seven hours round trip, three days a week, while working part-time at a small ice cream shop in Mount Gilead to support himself. His hard work paid off when he graduated in September 2005 and finally made the move to Michigan to begin his career in the film industry.
Since then, Terence has worked on a wide range of projects, from low-budget horror films shot on VHS to feature films shot on 35mm. He has also honed his skills as a casting production assistant on network and cable reality shows, working on various projects in the Detroit area. His versatility has allowed him to take on every role in the filmmaking process, from production assistant to director.
Terence's directorial debut, An Exercise In Narcissism, has gained international recognition, playing in film festivals as far away as Berlin, Germany. In addition to his work in film, Terence is also a published poet and an accomplished sculptor, whose pieces have been featured in several Detroit gallery shows. Despite his many accomplishments, Terence remains humble and true to his roots, always striving to push the boundaries of his creativity and artistic expression.
