Teiji Itô, a renowned composer and director, entered the world on January 22, 1935, in the bustling metropolis of Tokyo, Japan. Born into a vibrant cultural landscape, Itô would go on to leave an indelible mark on the world of film and music. His notable works include the critically acclaimed documentary "Divine Horsemen: The Living Gods of Haiti," released in 1993, the 2019 film "Little Joe," and the 1961 cinematic masterpiece "Maeva." Throughout his life, Itô was blessed to have shared his journey with four remarkable women: the celebrated filmmaker Maya Deren, his first wife Cherel Ito, the talented Gail Ryan, and his final companion Ilene Itô. Tragically, his life was cut short on August 16, 1982, in the beautiful island nation of Haiti, where he had found solace and inspiration.
