Biography

Ted Rusoff, a Canadian-born voice actor, left an indelible mark on the film industry, providing voiceovers for hundreds of Italian films often without receiving credit. Born to a family of screenwriters and film producers, Rusoff's showbusiness career began as a singer, specializing in foreign-language songs.

In the early 1960s, Rusoff relocated to Italy, where he worked as a voice actor and translator for his uncle Samuel Z. Arkoff's American International Pictures. He was responsible for translating and dubbing foreign films into English for the US import market.

Throughout his illustrious career, Rusoff worked as a sync-adapter and dubbing director on over 500 films, while his voice was featured in more than 1000 films. He provided voiceovers for numerous leading men, as well as many villains, in a number of Italian cult favorites.

Rusoff's extensive repertoire also included dubbing films into Italian and French, often supplying foreign languages or accents. Later in his career, he began to appear in more live-acting roles, typically for American productions shot in Italy.

Rusoff was married to fellow voice actor Carolyn De Fonseca, and the couple remained together until his passing in 2013.
