Ted McMichael, a talented individual, co-founded the renowned vocal quartet, The Merry Macs, which enjoyed significant commercial success with notable hits such as "Mairzy Doats", "Praise The Lord and Pass the Ammunition", and "Sentimental Journey".
As a high school student in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the 1920s, Ted, along with his brothers Judd McMichael and Joe McMichael, founded The Merry Macs, initially known as "The McMichaels". Their exceptional talent caught the attention of WCCO in Minneapolis, leading to their hiring.
In 1927, the group joined the esteemed Joe Haymes band, where Joe rebranded them as the "Personality Boys". The group underwent a name change once again in 1930, when Cheri McKay joined the ensemble, rechristening them as The Merry Macs.
Throughout their illustrious career, The Merry Macs consistently impressed audiences with their harmonious vocals and catchy tunes, solidifying their place in the annals of music history.
