Taylor Benjamin York, born on December 17, 1989, is a renowned American musician, famously recognized as the lead guitarist for the iconic rock band Paramore.
As the youngest of three brothers, Taylor was raised in Nashville, Tennessee, where his father, Peter York, serves as the chairman and CEO of Capitol Christian Music Group. Peter, an accomplished guitarist in his own right, took the time to teach Taylor and his elder brother Justin the art of playing the guitar. Taylor's eldest brother, Chris, holds the position of Senior Director of A&R at Capitol Records, while his brother Justin has had a successful music career as a touring member of Relient K and a touring guitarist for Paramore until 2022.
Before meeting Hayley Williams, Taylor had been a part of a band with the Farro brothers, Josh and Zac. It was Zac who introduced Taylor to Hayley at a high school football game, and the two quickly hit it off. Taylor played a significant role in writing songs for Paramore's debut album, All We Know Is Falling, including the track "Conspiracy". Additionally, he co-wrote the bonus track "O Star" with Hayley, a song that holds special significance as it was the first one they wrote together, when they were just 12 and 13 years old.
Taylor has been an official member of Paramore since 2007, and his contributions to the band have been instrumental in shaping their unique sound.
