Taylor Tay, born Steve Taylor, hails from Paddington, London, W2. Growing up, he had a passion for writing, amateur dramatics, and sports, where he excelled as a southpaw boxer. Although he signed a professional boxing contract at 21, an old thumb injury forced him to abandon his boxing career just before his debut fight.
In his teenage years, Taylor gained experience as a model and continued to model occasionally in his adult life. He pursued his creative interests, writing and performing whenever possible. His first taste of professional film work came when he featured in the Bollywood movie "Ramji - London Waley" (2005),playing a street mugger.
After relocating to Lowestoft, Suffolk, Taylor focused on his career as an actor and writer. He joined the local theatre group, "The Seagull Theatre," where he received guidance from acting coach and actress Agnes Lillis.
As a supporting artist, Taylor worked his way up, securing dialogue-related roles in TV and film. He appeared in a six-part TV series on SKY channel, "BEN TV," and played a murderer in Donal Macintyre's "Murder Files." He established himself as an actor, landing roles in a handful of feature films and shorts.
Taylor has also had featured roles in music videos, choreographing a significant fight scene in one where he played a gangland boss. Recently, he portrayed an ex-gangster turned priest in the British Rap video "CONFESSIONS" - (Vineyard Cries).
With a fondness for playing naughty characters, such as violent criminals, hooligans, and gangsters, Taylor has a significant passion for comedy.
As a screenwriter, Taylor has completed a feature film, which he wrote for ex-football hooligan and underworld gangster Carlton Leach. This project is set to be released in 2019.
Taylor's love for poetry has inspired him to write song lyrics, including opera. He has collaborated with fellow actor and writer Roy Vincent to create film company "LIQUID BULLET PRODUCTIONZ," where they have already written several features and shorts. Their first film is scheduled for release in 2019, with the aim of entering the festival circuit.
Throughout his career, Taylor has worked with numerous well-known names, including Actor/Director/Cinematographer Sean Cronin, British icons Vas Blackwood, Ricci Harnett, Cathy Tyson, Martin Kemp, David Essex, and London Gangster Dave Courtney, to name a few.
Taylor Tay is undoubtedly a name to watch out for in the near future for TV and film.
