Taylor Olson is a multi-talented individual based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is a multiple Canadian Screen Award nominee and ACTRA Award winner, showcasing his exceptional acting skills in numerous feature films and television series.
Taylor has acted in various films, including Look At Me, which earned him a Canadian Screen Award nomination, Black Cop, Hopeless Romantic, Halloween Party, Dawn Her Dad & the Tractor, and his own feature film directorial debut, Bone Cage, for which he won Best Actor at several film festivals and received his first ACTRA Award. His second ACTRA Award was for his role in the feature film Bystanders, which he co-wrote alongside his partner, Koumbie.
In addition to his acting work, Taylor has appeared in recurring roles on TV series such as Sex & Violence, Diggstown, Pure, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, King & Pawn, Revival, and Trailer Park Boy's: Jail series, where he played the role of Larry.
Taylor's feature film directorial debut, Bone Cage, received critical acclaim and won numerous awards at the FIN Atlantic International Film Festival and other festivals around the world. The film was also nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards for Adapted Screenplay and Supporting Actress. His sophomore feature film, Look At Me, premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival and won the Best Performance award at the Canadian Film Fest, with a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Lead Actor.
For television, Taylor has directed two seasons of This Hour Has 22 Minutes on CBC, three seasons of the documentary series Disrupt for AMI, and screened their AR series Alone Together at festivals such as the Reykjavik International Film Festival and the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. As a creator, Taylor released his first two short-form comedy series, King & Pawn and 2GETHER 4EVER, for Bell Fibe TV1, and shot the third season of King & Pawn in a 6 x 22-minute format for the Trailer Park Boys streaming service, Swearnet.
Taylor is also the recipient of the 2020 Arts Nova Scotia Emerging Artist Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the arts.
