Biography

Taylor Kitsch was born on April 8, 1981, in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, to Susan (Green) and Drew Kitsch. He grew up in Vancouver, where he developed an early interest in acting.

Taylor was scouted by modeling scouts in Canada and moved to New York in 2002, where he became a model for famous clothing lines like Abercrombie & Fitch and Diesel. He was also signed with Untitled Entertainment and Nous Modeling Management.

In 2004, Taylor moved to Los Angeles to focus on his acting career, but after eight months, he returned to Vancouver for the summer to spend time with his family. He then signed with Endeavour in 2006.

Taylor's breakthrough role was in the movie The Covenant (2006),a supernatural thriller where he played one of four young witches battling a powerful supernatural force. Although the movie wasn't a huge success, it helped him gain recognition and fans got to see a more toned and fit version of him.

Casting directors from Friday Night Lights (2006) saw his talent and hired him to play the role of Tim Riggins, a main player for the Dillon Panthers. The show received critical acclaim, with USA Today calling it "one of the best-acted, best-written, best-produced shows on television".

During the show's summer hiatus, Taylor filmed the feature Gospel Hill (2008),alongside Julia Stiles, Danny Glover, Angela Bassett, and Samuel L. Jackson. In 2009, he signed on to play Gambit in the X-Men franchise spin-off, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He has since starred in films like The Bang Bang Club (2010),John Carter (2012),Battleship (2012),and Savages (2012).

Taylor is a humble guy who prefers to avoid the tabloid craze and enjoys doing charity work, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
