Tara Lynne Barr's impressive career in the entertainment industry has showcased her versatility in portraying complex characters in film and television. Born and raised in Orange County, California, she began her journey in theater at the age of seven, drawn to the stage and loving the ability to bring diverse characters to life.
After appearing in a handful of series on Disney and Nickelodeon, Tara decided to wait until after graduating from high school to pursue a career in acting. Shortly before graduation, she booked her role in the award-winning independent film God Bless America (2011),which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Tara's breakout role came in Hulu and Lionsgate Television's original comedy series Casual (2015),where she played Laura, the sarcastic yet wise and witty daughter of Valerie. The series received critical acclaim and was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical.
In addition to her work on Casual, Tara appeared in NBC's 1960's thriller-drama series Aquarius (2015),opposite Golden Globe winner David Duchovny. She portrayed the character of Katie, based on real-life Manson follower Patricia Krenwinkel.
Tara has also made a name for herself in the indie film scene, starring in the short film Dawn (2014),directed by Rose McGowan, and the feature film God Bless America (2011),which has since become a cult hit.
