Biography

Tanya's impressive journey began in St. Louis, Missouri, where she was an outstanding student from an early age. As a high school valedictorian, she demonstrated her academic prowess, and her exceptional talent was further recognized when she graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society from St. Louis University's theatre program.

In addition to her academic achievements, Tanya received a two-year certification in Musical Theatre at the renowned AMDA-New York, honing her craft and preparing her for a successful career in the entertainment industry.

The 1990s saw Tanya take the stage by storm, appearing in dozens of musicals and stage plays, and booking her first national tour in the iconic production of 'The Wiz' in 1997, alongside the legendary Grace Jones.

Her Off-Broadway credits include 'In Dahomey' at Woody King's New Federal Theatre in 1999, and she made a notable television appearance on 'Law & Order: SVU' in 2000.

In 2001, Tanya relocated to Los Angeles, where she continued to build her impressive resume with roles on television shows such as 'The Shield', 'Half n Half', 'Lucky Louie', and 'Material Girls', as well as a significant voice over role as 'Jocelyn Reyes' in the 2013 film 'Tombraider'.

Tanya's prolific career has spanned a wide range of projects, including films, web series, commercials, motion capture, and voice over work. She has lent her talents to notable productions such as Sesame Street & Headspace's 'Goodnight, World', radio spots for WeWork, Indeed, and Amazon, and has appeared on stage at esteemed venues like The Fountain Theatre and Mark Taper Forum.

Throughout her career, Tanya has garnered numerous awards and accolades, including Best Music Video at the Hollywood Black Film Festival in 2009 and Best Supporting Actress at the Santa Monica Film Festival for her role in 'Beyond Doubt' in 2016.

With her distinctive alto voice, unique look, and strong presence, Tanya has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry, and her impressive career is sure to continue for years to come.
