Tammy Thomas is a multifaceted American professional, born on July 7, 1974, in Dallas, Texas. Her journey in the entertainment industry began at a tender age of five, where she started performing in her church's plays, fostering a passion for acting that would only continue to grow.
As she progressed, Tammy was cast in her elementary school's production of "Kid's Sing Praises" at the age of eight, taking on the role of Risky Rat, originally intended for a boy. This early start marked the beginning of her extensive experience in off-Broadway theatrical productions around the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including "For Colored Girls...(Soul Rep Theater)", "The Search For Signs...(Theater Arlington)", "Death Express (Pegasus Theater)", "Black Butterfly in Chloroform (Teatro Dallas)", and many more.
Throughout the 1990s, Tammy continued to hone her craft on stage, while her interest in film and television grew. During her tenure as a tour guide at The Movie Studio's of Las Colinas in Irving, Texas, she signed with an agent and landed her first television role on "Walker, Tx. Ranger". This breakthrough led to a slew of other TV and independent film roles, including "Wishbone", "America's Dream", "Kanaani", and the CBS hit series "Prison Break!".
In 2000, Tammy graduated from The American Broadcasting School, and mere weeks shy of graduation, she was hired as a news and traffic anchor for various stations across DFW, including K104, 105.7 KRNB, Soul 73 KKDA, 98.7 KLUV, and 1080 KRLD.
In 2010, Tammy relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where she continued to excel in both theater and independent films. Two years later, she returned to her hometown of Dallas and wrote her first independent film, "Paradise House", in which she also starred and co-executive produced.
In 2017, Tammy made another bold move, relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, where she continues to write, produce, and star in independent films and television shows across various genres. Additionally, she remains a traffic anchor for iHeart Media/Total Traffic Network and is the co-owner of EDEWEMESEY Films. Her talents can also be heard on KISS 104.1 Atlanta's best R&B every weekday afternoon.
