Biography

Born in the East Village of Manhattan, Talia was raised in Rochester, New York, and Aspen, Colorado, where she was exposed to a diverse range of musical influences. Her parents, an opera singer father and a gospel pianist and teacher mother, encouraged her to develop her musical talents from an early age.

Growing up in Aspen, Talia spent her summers exploring the great outdoors, learning to ride horses, and listening to country music legends like Hank Williams, George Jones, and Loretta Lynn. She also had the opportunity to attend the Aspen Music Festival, where she was exposed to classical and jazz music.

Talia's early life was marked by a passion for music and performance. She began writing songs and stories at a young age and, at the age of nine, traded in her piano lessons for the tuba. She went on to play the tuba for over ten years and even toured Europe as a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

As a child, Talia also developed a love for acting, making her stage debut at the age of five in a production of "La Boheme" alongside her father and siblings. She continued to act throughout her childhood and made her professional debut at the age of eighteen.

After completing her education at NYU and the Circle in the Square Theatre School, Talia began working as a professional actor, landing leading roles in films like "Anguish," "Misplaced," and "Love and Other Sorrows." She also appeared in numerous stage productions, including Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theater.

However, Talia's life took a dramatic turn when she was involved in a serious accident involving a mountain bike and a taxicab door. This incident led to a five-year hiatus from music, during which time she sold most of her possessions and moved to Colorado.

It was in Colorado that Talia rediscovered her love of music, teaching herself to play the guitar and writing her first songs. She soon found herself drawn to the idea of traveling the country, singing and playing for gas money and her supper.

Talia's journey took her to numerous small towns and cities across the United States, where she performed at local bars and clubs, sang for her supper, and even rode horses and camped in the wilderness. Along the way, she developed a devoted following and eventually made her way to Los Angeles, where she established herself as a professional solo artist.

Throughout her career, Talia has performed at numerous notable venues, including the Roxy, Largo, and the Knitting Factory. She has also been recognized by Billboard magazine and has performed alongside Sarah MacLachlan at the El Rey Theatre.

Talia's music has been featured in several motion pictures, including "Two Ninas," "Love Happens," and "Cowgirls." Despite her many accomplishments, Talia remains an avid horsewoman and cowgirl, and continues to perform and compose music to this day.
