Susan Vidler, a talented individual, was born in Scotland, where she spent the early years of her childhood. However, her formative years were also influenced by her five-year stint in South Africa, which provided a unique cultural backdrop for her development. Upon returning to Scotland, Susan completed her education at Prestonlodge High School in Prestonpans, East Lothian, before embarking on a higher education journey at the prestigious Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she honed her acting skills.
Susan's early professional career was marked by a strong presence in the theatrical world, including a notable role in the stage adaptation of "Trainspotting", where she portrayed the complex character of "Alison", a junkie mother. This performance earned her a chance to reprise her role in the film adaptation of "Trainspotting" in 1996.
In 1997, Susan appeared in a short film, "California Sunshine", which tackled the sensitive topic of drug addiction. Directed by David Mackenzie, the film also starred his brother, Alastair Mackenzie. Following her work on this project, Susan and Alastair began a romantic relationship, which eventually led to the birth of their two children, Martha and Freddy. The family currently resides in London.
