Susan Berger, a multifaceted individual, was born in Buffalo, New York, and later attended nursery school in Paris, France. She continued her education, finishing elementary school in Cape Town, South Africa, and ultimately graduating high school in Rome, Italy. Throughout her childhood, Susan's family relocated to five different states, making her a true citizen of the world. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia, Susan was awarded a scholarship to teach acting at the Honolulu Community Theatre in Hawaii. She also pursued a Master's degree at the University of Hawaii. The theatre company, which boasts esteemed alumni such as Clyde Kusatsu, Keone Young, and Haunani Minn, provided Susan with valuable experience and a strong foundation for her future endeavors.
Susan's journey took her to London, where she aimed to establish an acting career. However, England's work permit requirements proved challenging, and she was forced to reassess her plans. She subsequently moved to the Front Street Theatre in Memphis, Tennessee, and later to New York City. During her time in the city, Susan appeared in numerous regional and Off-Broadway productions, as well as the original and Broadway productions of the musical The Robber Bridegroom.
One of Susan's most unforgettable experiences was being cast in Joel Coen's film adaptation of The Tragedy of Macbeth. The production, which took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, was a truly magical experience for everyone involved. Susan's filmography also includes Kajillionaire, Looks to Kill, The Dollar King, and the upcoming The Legacy of Cloudy Falls.
Susan can be seen in the Amazon Original series Jury Duty, playing the role of Barbara Goldstein. This unique project involved improvising dialogue around a set of premises, with the cast never knowing exactly how the story would unfold. The show's success is a testament to the production team's exceptional editing skills. In addition to her work on Jury Duty, Susan has appeared in American Horror Story, Baskets, Mom, Criminal Minds, Bob Hearts Abishola, and Hunters.
In her pursuit of creative expression, Susan has also studied improv and musical improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade. Alongside her son, Christopher Corbin, Susan formed a two-person improv group, Son of a Mother, which showcases their unique talents and chemistry.
