Summer Rain Menkee, a product of hippie parents' unconventional naming choice, was born and raised on the picturesque Oregon Coast, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the Pacific Ocean.
As a talented actress, Summer has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry, appearing in a range of notable TV shows, including Season 2 of "P-Valley" on STARZ, Season 5 of "Dynasty" on The CW, and Season 3 of "The Resident" on FOX. Her impressive resume also boasts a stint as Michelle Obama's former Princeton roommate in the Showtime series "The First Lady," opposite the esteemed Viola Davis.
In addition to her television work, Summer has ventured into the world of independent films, co-writing, producing, and starring in the award-winning short film "Now Or Never." Her impressive filmography also includes a role as the Court Stenographer in the MGM production "TILL," a powerful drama based on the true story of Emmett Till.
As a proud advocate for arts education, Summer has always been passionate about sharing her love for the stage with others. Despite the drama program being cut at her local high school, Summer's passion for the arts only grew stronger. She has since become a teaching artist with the Alliance Theatre Institute and has taught theatre at Le Lycee Francais de Los Angeles and with L.A.U.SD.'s Arts Education Branch.
Summer's own educational background is impressive, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Seattle Pacific University and additional training at the esteemed American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. She has also honed her comedic skills with Lesly Kahn and her improv skills with Upright Citizen's Brigade in Los Angeles.
Throughout her career, Summer has received numerous accolades, including a Performing Arts Scholarship. Her dedication to her craft and her commitment to arts education have made her a respected figure in the entertainment industry.
