Biography

Sue Rock, a native Texan, embarked on her theatrical journey at the tender age of seven, joining Marietta Marich's Main Street Theater in Houston. This marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for the craft of acting, which would only continue to blossom as she grew older.

At the age of ten, Sue became a Company Member of Houston's renowned Studio VII, a legendary musical theater venue. Under the guidance of Chris "Momma Bear" Wilson, the theater's owner, artistic director, and mentor, Sue's understanding and appreciation for the art of acting deepened.

Later, Sue pursued her education in drama at The University of Houston, further honing her skills and knowledge of the craft. In the early 1990s, she ventured to Los Angeles to study with Eric Morris and D.W. Brown, renowned experts in their field.

Upon her return to Texas, Sue continued to refine her craft under the tutelage of C.C. Courtney and Gary Chason. Her early career was marked by a plethora of experimental, underground films in the 1980s and 1990s.

In 2004, Sue relocated to Austin, Texas, where she co-founded South Austin Pictures, a film company dedicated to producing fiercely independent films that explored the human condition in innovative and unconventional ways.

Today, Sue resides in Dallas, Texas, and remains an active presence in the film, television, and theater industries as a writer, producer, and actress. Her professional affiliations include SAG-AFTRA and Woman in Film.
