Subodh Chopra is a seasoned professional with a career spanning over two decades in the film and television industry. He began his journey in 1997 and has since become a senior grade writer, known for his emotional and socially relevant storylines. Chopra's natural writing style has led him to explore themes that focus on interpersonal relationships and hard-hitting, real-life situations.
He gained recognition for his work on the popular TV series "Reporter" on DD-1, which was produced and directed by Vinod Pande and starred Shekhar Suman, Mona Ambegaonkar, and the late Raj Kiran. Chopra's writing career received a significant boost when he was invited to write exclusively for Zee Entertainment channel. He went on to write seven one-hour films for RISHTEY on Zee TV, working with renowned directors such as Partho Mitra, Salim Arif, Parvati Balagopalan, and Gul Khan.
One of his most notable projects was the Docu-Drama series "Haqeeqat," which was hosted by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Anuradha Prasad. The show, which explored actual court cases of human rights violations, was a huge success and won several TV awards. This success led to Chopra being offered an exclusive writing deal with Vishesh films, where he wrote the biggest hit of the year, "Murder." He also wrote for "Tumsa Nahin Dekha" and "Rog," which starred the late Irrfan Khan.
In addition to his work in film and television, Chopra has also directed several advertisements and TVCs, including spots for Lodha Builders, which he worked on exclusively for Kreative Access Media. He has also directed several episodes of "Savdhan India" for SAREGAMA films, including an award-winning episode starring Sarita Joshi and Jannat Shaikh.
Chopra's most recent and notable work as a writer and director is a ten-minute war film, shot for the Indian Army's 13 Jak Rif Battalion, which was premiered at the Vijay Diwas Ceremony at IGI indoor stadium in New Delhi. The film, which was written and directed by Chopra, features Amitabh Bachchan in a voice-over role and was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, among others.
