Stuart Lawson, a talented individual born in Devon, showcased his innate ability to entertain from a very early age. At the tender age of four, he made his stage debut at the Adeline Genee Theatre in a production of 'Yeomen of the Guard', marking the beginning of his lifelong involvement in theatrical productions. With a rich family history in musical theatre, he has had the privilege of studying alongside renowned directors, writers, and actors, allowing him to hone his craft and learn from the best in the industry.
Throughout his career, Stuart has had the opportunity to work alongside well-known and up-and-coming actors, both directing and starring alongside them in various productions for professional companies. After completing his studies, he landed a four-month contract for the children's show "The Rangers", produced by Antony Audenshaw (Emmerdale),where he refined his skills in street theatre, skin work, and compère work.
As a compère, Stuart was given the chance to transition into presenting and interviewing for various TV and radio programs, which ultimately led to him being interviewed for the Bigger Breakfast on Channel 4. His experience in presenting and interviewing further solidified his confidence and prepared him for his future roles in the entertainment industry.
In 2000, Stuart landed the lead role in the short film 'The Fall', financed by Film 4, and has since made numerous short films, mostly playing the lead, which have allowed him to develop his skills and become an experienced actor in film. His breakthrough role came in 2003 with 'Closer', followed by his involvement in film production in 2004, giving him a deeper understanding of the behind-the-scenes process as a writer, editor, and in other aspects of film and stage.
In 2008, Stuart produced a documentary on the dance installation "Duets for Unusual Souls" with Angela Praed (Random Dance),recreating the dance marathons (walkathons) held during the Great Depression. The success of this project led to the formation of a production company, Blue Slug, which has since produced films, music videos, and outsourced to other companies, including 24 Productions, BBC, and Warner Brothers.
