Stewart Hopewell, a multifaceted individual, embarked on his academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he also honed his creative skills by minoring in Art and Art History.
Subsequently, Hopewell pursued his passion for the cinematic arts by earning a Master of Fine Arts from the Florida State University Conservatory of Motion Picture Arts in Tallahassee, Florida. During his tenure, he demonstrated his directorial prowess by helming four films, including one of the five thesis films, "3am" (2003),a 22-minute psychological horror masterpiece shot on 35mm.
"3am" is slated to make its festival debut in the fourth quarter of 2003, while another one of Hopewell's films, "Misfortune," is expected to appear at festivals later that year. Shot on super 16mm, "Misfortune" promises to be a captivating addition to the festival circuit.
Currently, Hopewell is putting his writing skills to the test by crafting a feature-length screenplay, further solidifying his reputation as a talented and ambitious filmmaker.
