Biography

Steve was born in Decatur, Illinois, and began his film career in a style reminiscent of Roger Corman, directing a series of successful B movies in Florida during the early 1990s. These films, which were released on home video and cable, included the hits "Dark Universe" (1993) and "Jack-O" (1995),as well as the cult classic "Vampire Trailer Park" (1991).

As his career progressed, Steve relocated to Los Angeles and continued to work as both a writer and director, albeit on projects with significantly larger budgets. With a filmography spanning well over a decade, Steve's recent screenwriting credits have included the family adventure film "American Black Beauty" (2005),which starred Dean Stockwell, as well as the upcoming Sci-Fi Channel superhero adventure "Stan Lee's Lightspeed" (2006).

In his personal life, Steve has a son, Ryan Thomas, who was born on June 5, 1986, to his former wife Patricia, whom he divorced in 2003.
