Steve Baskis, a courageous individual, suffered a life-altering loss of vision in May 2008 while serving with the United States Army during military operations. This unforeseen turn of events could have potentially led to a life of limitations, but instead, Steve chose to defy the odds and shatter the common perception of blindness. Undeterred by his disability, Steve embarked on an extraordinary journey, pushing his physical and mental boundaries to unprecedented heights.

In 2009, Steve made history by becoming a member of the first-ever blind team to conquer the summit of the 8th tallest peak in North America, a feat accomplished alongside fellow adventurers from the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Since that fateful day in May 2008, Steve has continued to ascend to new heights, both literally and figuratively, cultivating a profound passion for competitive sports and outdoor recreation.

As Steve looks to the future, he is driven by a burning desire to inspire and raise awareness about the capabilities of individuals with visual impairments. Through his extraordinary adventures and explorations, Steve aims to challenge societal perceptions and demonstrate that even the most seemingly insurmountable obstacles can be overcome with determination, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to pursuing one's dreams.
