Stephen Robert Morse, a talented filmmaker, was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for producing Amanda Knox, a Netflix hit documentary that played a significant role in popularizing the true crime genre. This project was born out of Morse's experiences as an Erasmus Mundus journalism fellow, representing the United States in Europe.
Morse's subsequent work, EuroTrump, earned him unprecedented access to Geert Wilders, a Dutch right-wing politician living under constant security protection due to credible threats from ISIS. The film received widespread critical acclaim and was acquired by various platforms, including Hulu, VICE, national broadcasters, and had a European theatrical run after premiering at Sheffield Doc Fest, DOC NYC, and CPH:DOX.
As an executive producer, Morse worked on Freedom For The Wolf, a documentary exploring the global threats to liberal democracy, which won the Audience Award at the 2018 Slamdance Film Festival and received a nomination for the 2019 Cinema For Peace Awards in Berlin.
Morse's most recent project, In the Cold Dark Night, is a documentary about the 1983 murder of Timothy Coggins in Spalding County, Georgia. The film is available on ABC, Hulu, Sky, and as a series on BET, and earned Morse an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing: Documentary.
In addition to his documentary work, Morse executive produced The Pickup Game, a film exploring toxic masculinity, which premiered at HotDocs and was acquired by Starz in the USA and dozens of European national broadcasters. He also produced Bad Hombres for Showtime, a documentary about the world's only bi-national sports team, a professional Mexican baseball team playing half of their home games in Mexico and half in Texas.
Stephen Robert Morse holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Oxford. Alongside his business partner Max Peltz, he runs Lone Wolf Studios.
