Biography

Stephen Hogan, a renowned Dublin-born actor, embarked on his journey to stardom by training at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. His impressive stage career has seen him take on leading roles across various productions, including performances at the esteemed Royal National Theatre in London and the renowned Abbey and Gate Theatres in Dublin. With a career spanning over three decades, Hogan has amassed a plethora of credits in both film and television.

In recent years, Hogan has appeared in a plethora of critically acclaimed productions. His notable roles include the BBC and PBS masterpiece "Ridley Road," where he portrayed George Lincoln Rockwell, the real-life leader of the American Nazi Party in the 1960s. He has also appeared in the dark family comedy "The Dry" for RTE/Britbox, directed by Paddy Breathnach, and the historical drama "Vikings: Valhalla" for MGM.

Hogan's 2021 was marked by the release of the award-winning and widely popular big-budget Indian feature "Sardar Udham" on Amazon Prime. He played the leading role of Detective Inspector John Swain opposite Vicky Koushal in the title role, under the direction of Shoojit Sircar.

In 2017, Hogan featured in several high-profile big-screen productions, including the blockbuster film "Transformers: The Last Knight" for Paramount, the action-packed "The Foreigner" opposite Jacki Chan and Pierce Brosnan, directed by veteran Bond director Marton Campbell, and the critically acclaimed Irish movie "Handsome Devil" for Treasure Entertainment and Netflix, written and directed by John Butler.

While often cast as Irish, Hogan has had the opportunity to play numerous American roles throughout his career. Some of his notable American characters include the lead in the cult B-Movie sci-fi satire "Starship Troopers - Marauder" for Sony Pictures, where he also sang the theme song "It's a Good Day to Die!", the American Ambassador Dan Cahill in "Jarhead 3: The Siege" for Universal, and President Joseph Reed in the historical drama "Benedict Arnold" for A&E opposite Kelsey Grammar.

Hogan has also played a variety of British characters, including MI5 agent Eleric Henderson opposite Stephen Dillane in the 2021 spy thriller "Red Election" for A&E, Sir Henry Norris in the Showtime series "The Tudors," General William Lowe in "Trial of the Century" for Amazon Prime, Sir Henry Merchant in the ITV and BBC America series "Primeval," and "Some Mother's Son" opposite Helen Mirren.
