Biography

Stephen E. Miller is a multifaceted creative force, boasting a dual nationality as both Canadian and American. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, he has built a prolific career as a screenwriter, novelist, and actor.

Born in Durham, North Carolina, Miller's academic pursuits took him to Virginia Military Institute, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1968. This foundation in history would later inform his writing.

Following his undergraduate studies, Miller pursued a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia, graduating in 1970. This graduate program served as a springboard for his future literary endeavors.

In 2015, Miller collaborated as a co-writer on two seasons of the CBC spy series, The Romeo Section. This experience added to his impressive repertoire.

Miller's writing accomplishments are numerous. He won the International 3-Day Novel contest with his novel, Wastefall, which led to the publication of subsequent works. These include The Woman in the Yard, published by Picador USA, Field of Mars, released by Penguin Canada in 2005, and its sequel, The Last Train to Kazan, in 2007.

The Messenger, published by Delacorte in 2012, has been sold to multiple countries, including Denmark, Spain, Serbia, Poland, China, and Israel.

As an actor, Miller has appeared in over 40 stage productions, demonstrating his versatility and range.
