Biography

Stephanie Weeks is a renowned actor and director, celebrated for her captivating performances and unwavering dedication to her craft. Dubbed "Luminous" by the New York Times for her standout role in "As Yet Thou Art Young and Rash", she has had the privilege of taking the stage at esteemed theaters such as Lincoln Center, Playwrights Horizons, Soho Rep, La Jolla Playhouse, and many others.

Throughout her illustrious career, Stephanie has received numerous accolades, including the OBIE Award for Recognition of Artistic Achievement and Commitment to Excellence in Theater as an Associate Artist with Target Margin Theater. She has also had the honor of working alongside esteemed directors and actors, including Melvin Van Peebles, Laura Linney, and Danai Gurira.

Stephanie's impressive filmography includes starring roles in "Confessionsofa Ex-Doofus-ItchyFooted-Mutha", an Official Selection of the Tribeca Film Festival, as well as appearances on Netflix's "Tales of The City" alongside Laura Linney and the CBS series "The Good Fight".

As a director, Stephanie has brought her unique vision to the stage, helming productions such as "Eclipsed" by Danai Gurira at the University of Utah, which received awards for Outstanding Performance and Production Ensemble from the Kennedy Center's Festivention Series. Her other directing credits include "After Midnight" for the Target Margin Yiddish Theater Lab and "Machinal" by Sophie Treadwell at New York University.

Stephanie holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and a certificate of study from the London Academy of Music and Drama.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Stephanie spent her formative years dancing salsa and indulging in salted mangoes and patacones with her aunts and uncles in Costa Rica during the summer months. Her early passion for music led her to play the cello for eight years, culminating in a memorable audition for the musical "Bye Bye Birdie", where she landed the role of "Nancy". Although she eventually laid down her cello, she never ruled out the possibility of picking it up again.
