Sassy Stephie, an American professional wrestler, is known by her ring names Sassy Stephie and Sassy Stephanie. She regularly competes for various independent promotions on the Midwest and East Coast, including Shimmer Women Athletes, Jersey All Pro Wrestling, WSU, and OCW, as well as having experience in Ring of Honor and Chikara.
Sassy Stephie began her career in the Akron, Ohio area, ring announcing for a local wrestling promotion. After the regular announcer was unable to work, she was given the opportunity to fill in, drawing from her experience as a DJ at a bowling alley. She soon became the regular ring announcer and was encouraged to train as a wrestler due to her passion for the sport. She began training at Jeff Cannon's school in Coshocton, Ohio.
Sassy Stephie made her wrestling debut in Ohio Championship Wrestling (OCW) at their first annual all-ladies' show in March 2007. She lost to Lexi Lane, who would later become TNA's Madison Rayne, in the first round of the tournament. This loss sparked a rivalry between the two, which would continue for several years. She also competed in a tag team match later that night, teaming with Lorelei Lee to lose to Josie and Jessicka Havok.
Lane went on to win the tournament and become the first OCW Women's Champion, and Sassy Stephie received several title shots over the next couple of years. She managed to beat Lane in a no disqualification Catfight Brawl, but suffered an injury in that match that caused her to miss significant ring time.
Sassy Stephie continued to compete against Lane, often teaming with other wrestlers such as Angel Dust or Hailey Hatred. At the second annual Ladies Night in 2008, she competed in the tournament, coming close to winning a bye to the finals in the opening battle royale, but ultimately losing her first-round match. Later that night, she teamed with Josie to defeat Lorelei Lee and Alere Little Feather in tag team action.
In April 2009, Sassy Stephie competed in the third annual Ladies Night tournament, losing her first-round match to Lorelei Lee, but receiving a second chance and advancing to the semi-finals after winning a triple threat match against Nevaeh and Mary Elizabeth Monroe. However, she was ultimately eliminated by Jessicka Havok.
In the summer of 2009, Sassy Stephie suffered a controversial loss to Amber O'Neal, with Ashley Lane serving as the special guest referee.
